Anyway. The English for International Student Union in the Uni of Bham organised a few trips to some places around in the UK. Since some of my friends were keen to go, I hoped on the opportunity as well.
But at 7 freaking am in the morning, I wanted to shoot myself in the head for agreeing in the first place. It was darn cold as usual, and I was just tired. And last night sucked the soul out of me because I stayed up just to do the wrong tutorial. Life is unfair I tell you.
We turned up at the designated meeting point at around 8.15am to wait for the bus. The bus was punctual and prompt(thank the gods), leaving at 8.30am sharp. It was a 2 hours long journey to Cardiff, needless to say I konked out in the bus.
We first visited St Fagans Museum of Welsh Life when we arrived. Apparently this is a project that includes over 40 buildings taken from the original location all over Wales. It was rather fascinating and amazing. Among the things we managed to see apart from the buildings were the costumes, weapons and life of the Welsh in the olden days.
Here are some pics:

Welsh woman about her chores.

The Welsh. Silly girl in purple does not count.

A welsh soldier kindly let me play with his rapier!! ^__^ But he seemed really worried about how I was handling it...

They had sheep farm! I wanted to kidnap one.

Random room in one of the houses.

The Welsh hang this in their rooms. Got spy in your house?

And apparently they like kidney soup.

At the gardens. This is why I love autumn.

Spot me!

Random pic from the gardens...I love the colours of it for some reason.

The Mansion at the museum. It was a pity we didn't have enough time to explore it..it was really magnificent and beautiful from a far.

At the arch way of the mansion gardens.
I just realised that i actually didn't take much pics of the buildings in the Welsh Village. They were....well, quite fugly to begin with. Oh well. -_-
After the museum, I was so hungry that I bought this to eat:

♥ ♥

It was damn delicious, but it reminded me of one of those chinese biscuits we have at home. Lou Poh Peng?
Probably my only souvenir there. One of my friends bought a strawberry scone (I should have too!!!!) and let me try me. It was heavenly.
Later on we moved into the city centre, where we visited the Cardiff Castle (I know, castle again.).

The Mansion in the castle...This is where the lord of the castle used to reside in. I really liked the gothic architecture of it. Looks like one of the fantasy games landscape. ^_^
To be honest, there wasn't much of difference between Warrick Castle and Cardiff's one, but I think I like Cardiff's better. We were taken for a tour inside the castle, and the interior of the castle was short of the word "incredible". It was even richer in details than the Warrick Castle despite not having mannequins. Unfortunately no photographs were allowed. :(
All I can say after looking at the architecture of the castle on a whole is; the people in the 1800s are freaking 'sanggup' when it comes to spending for decoration at home. Lucky bastards. When I say incredible, it's not that it was beautiful. It was beautiful to a extend, but most of the interior design were in fact rather loud and gaudy for my taste, at the same time it was really extravagant. They really go ALL out to design something. The effort it takes to design and carve all the stuff out must've been immense.
A few more pics in the castle:

Castle's Keep.

View from the Keep.

With my girls!

Prisoner in my own keep.

And they had a lot of Welsh and also British war ornaments/regalia/uniforms on display. This looked really handsome and I think it'd make a spanking good Halloween costume.
And I didn't buy any other souvenirs for myself either. The only one I bought was already in my tummy and awaiting to be passed out. I contemplated buying soldier figurines to decorate my room, but I couldn't bear to spend any more money. I saw the absolute loveliest pair of welsh earrings in one of them stores, but it cost a friggin 16 pounds. 16!! T_T If it were 10 or lower, I would sapu it for sure...
Unfortunately, these were the only 2 places I spent my time in Cardiff. :( I don't know where all the hours went. So..I can't really say I've seen all of Cardiff either. I didn't even get to see the infamous Quay.
But for my final hour there, I managed to ditch my group for a while and visited Cam. I don't know why, but it was a relief to see her. It was comforting to see someone really familiar from back home. She very kindly took me into her room and offered me hot chocolate, which was a life saver after such a fucking tiring day.
It was nice to finally be able to speak to someone face to face without holding back, no reservations and without pretence. The hour just flew by like that. I wish we could've been able to talk longer but I guess time and tide awaits for no one.
I just hope that we can work out some plans for Xmas soon. :)
I departed from Cardiff at 5.30pm, and reached back in Bham at 8pm. I so was fucking exhausted. But again I felt it was another day worth living through.
.....
And I just realised that now I have a fuck load of housework and homework and homework waiting for me. POO.
