2008...hasn't been much of a significance really. Although it was perhaps more eventful that previous years. Memories of this year that I should remember (though I will forget in due time) includes my visit to Melbourne, my first job/internship and my first year studying abroad. Every incident now seems like it was just yesterday if I think about it.
2008 also dealt me a rather crushing blow. There's a black mark there, where I was denied the chance to go to the university of my dreams. Although I won't say that I played no part in fault for this...the fact remains that it was a turning point in my life. Who knows what would've, or could've been if I succeeded in my application?
I'm grateful to able to have little regrets of where I am today, although that one incident will forever cause me to regret. However little it may be.
BUT. Let bygones be bygones. No point in dwelling on the past, hmm?
Now, I've never been one to keep New Year resolutions. Given up a long time ago and now the very word 'resolution' makes me want to laugh and snort in skepticism. Just how many people in the world still do that anyway?
But in order to waste time and ignore work, let's pretend for a moment that I am one who does indeed keep resolutions. *snort* If I were, my New Year Resolutions for 2009 would be:
- EAT LESS. I swear, I don't need more than half the amount of food I'm consuming right now.
- Spend less.
- Stop, or to be more realistic, reduce procrastination. *snort*
- Sleep earlier, and wake up earlier. *double snort*
- Revise notes and lecturers every week. *triple snort*
- Try to get a part time job here.
- Get summer placement.
- Obtain first class for my 2nd year.
Resolution no.8 is not really a resolution. It's more of a hope. A fool's hope. But I've come a long way since UPSR...and I don't think I'm ready to give up the streak yet.
Well. So much for self-amusement. Happy New Year, all. =)
